Won By Land Leads Bermuda Triple Crown
Won By Land Leads Bermuda Triple Crown

More than 50 boats are now in contention for one of the most prestigious awards in all of big game fishing – the Bermuda Triple Crown. Won By Land, a beautiful 65 foot Merritt owned by Harry Patten, is leading the series with 1,000 points after the first leg completed last week, the Bermuda Billfish Blast. Rum Bum, Luis Bacardi's 54 Bertram, is hanging closely behind with their 900 points. Never Enough and Blue Dog are tied for a close third with 700 points each and Off Piste is fifth with 570 points. Then things get crowded with 16 boats knotted up at 500 points each.

Remember, the Triple Crown is based on total points accumulated during the three legs of the Bermuda Series held during the month of July, including the Bermuda Billfish Blast, the Bermuda Big Game Classic and the Sea Horse Angler's Club Billfish Tournament. The Classic kicks off today, July 13, and fishes through Saturday, July 15. The Sea Horse tournament will be held July 19-23.

All boats are competing for bragging rights and beautiful rings and trophies, as well as an outstanding prize package. Lots more to happen this week so stay tuned!
